Aristophanes’ ‘The Frogs’

Like classic musical comedy? You can’t get more classic than Aristophanes’ The Frogs, first performed in 405 BC. And what better place for the play to be performed than in Greece’s Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus, built some 100 years later?

The Frogs will stream live for free from the theater this Saturday, July 10, 2 pm ET, at LiveFromEpidaurus.gr and YouTube. The 1 hour, 45-minute show will be in Greek, with English subtitles.

The Frogs tells of Greek God Dionysus’s descent to the Underworld  on a quest to bring the best tragic poet back to the world of the living, so that theater can be restored to its former glory.
