Drug-Addled ET on Shudder

An extra terrestrial explores Planet Earth through the eyes of a drug-addled man in Fried Barry, a sci-fi horror comedy debuting today, May 7, on Shudder.

The alien inhabits the body of totally wasted Barry (Gary Green) and proceeds to explore Cape Town, South Africa. There, the intergalactic tourist encounters drugs, sex and violence, as Barry merely goes along for the ride.

The cast includes Bianka Hartenstein, Sean Cameron Michael, Chanelle de Jager, Joey Cramer and Jonathan Pienaar.

Fried Barry is Ryan Kruger’s feature directorial debut. Kruger, a music video director, also co-produced and co-wrote the film with James C. Williamson. Nicolai Fuglsig executive produced.

On Monday, May 10, three more films land on Shudder:

Sator — Alone in a desolate forest, a broken family is observed by Sator, a supernatural entity who is attempting to claim them. Sator stars Michael Daniel, Rachel Johnson and Aurora Lowe, and was written and directed by Jordan Graham.

Climate of the Hunter – Over dinner, two sisters (Ginger Gilmartin and Mary Buss) compete for the affections of a man (Ben Hall) who may or may not be a vampire.  Mickey Reece directed Climate of the Hunter and co-wrote the script with John Selvidge.

The Funeral Home – In this horror flick from Argentina, Bernardo (Luis Machin) runs a mortuary business out of his house. The front is for clients, the back for his toxic family who live among the coffins, wreaths and supernatural entities. Are the dead bodies the cause of the paranormal visitations? Or is something – or someone – else the source?

The cast includes Celeste Gerez and Camila Vaccarini. Mauro Iván Ojeda wrote and directed.

The Funeral Home is in Spanish with English subtitles.
