Hocus Pocus, the 1993 comedy fantasy starring Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy as the spooky Sanderson Sisters, is suddenly trending.
The film’s back in theaters as well as on Disney+; a sequel starring the original cast was announced earlier this week for Disney+; a free Sanderson Sisters-themed Broadway Cares fundraiser will stream tonight; and a ticketed cast reunion fundraiser will stream tomorrow.

This combo tribute and spoof of Hocus Pocus was created by Jay Armstrong Johnson, who stars as one of the sisters, along with Allison Robinson and Amanda Williams Ware. A “fully produced spectacle” is promised, with a cast of three dozen performers including Broadway stars and drag queens.

Your $13 ticket to this one-hour documentary-style event, to support the New York Restoration Project, gets you not only Midler, Parker and Najimy, but also castmates Thora Birch, Omri Katz and Doug Jones.

Elvira, Mistress of the Dark will host, with guests including Glenn Close, Billy Crystal, Meryl Streep, Jamie Lee Curtis, Jennifer Hudson, Michael Kors, George Lopez, Martin Short, Sarah Silverman, John Stamos and Kenan Thompson.
