In Search of America: Travels with Hyper, an ambitious, six-week live trip through pandemic-hit USA, pre- and post-election, debuts today on Twitch.

The interactive show will stream six to eight hours, five days, a week, through Friday, November 20.

The road trip starts today, 5-11 pm ET, from Las Vegas, and will then travel to two dozen cities in Utah, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, Louisiana, Texas, Arizona and California.

The RV-based travelers are Malika Lim Eubank, CEO of producer HyperRPG, and her husband Zac Lim Eubank, its chief creative officer.

“I’m excited to take our live audience with us across America during social unrest, the Covid-19 pandemic, and with the upcoming presidential election as our backdrop,” said Malika. “As an interracial couple, we want to explore and celebrate the diversity of the American experience.  And we’re inviting our audience to join our journey from the comfort and safety of their own homes.”

The interactivity? “Viewers of the livestream will be able to choose what we explore, eat and uncover in real time.” said Zac Lim Eubank. “We want our viewers to share our adventure by helping drive the narrative of our exploration of America during this historic time.”

If the title, ‘In Search of America,” sounds vaguely familiar to Boomers, it was also used for a 1971 ABC TV movie/pilot starring a young Jeff Bridges as a college dropout who convinces his family to explore a divided USA in an old Greyhound bus. Here’s the complete movie:
