Woke, about an up-and-coming African-American cartoonist who gets a wake-up call, debuts today, September 9, on Hulu.

The eight-episode comedy stars Lamorne Morris as Keef Knight, whose cartoons are popular, but carefully innocuous – until an encounter with the police awakens his social conscience. Keef is then pressured by animated malt liquor bottles, garbage cans and other objects, challenging him to use his talents to address the reality of racism in America.

The cast includes T. Murph and Workaholics’ Blake Anderson.  The series creators are Keith Knight and Marshall Todd.
