Jeffrey Epstein: Filthy Rich

American financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, who died last year under mysterious circumstances at New York City’s Metropolitan Correctional Center, is the subject of this four-part docuseries.

Starting as a math teacher at an elite New York prep school, Epstein ultimately became a very wealthy operator in financial circles. His success brought him powerful and famous associates, including Britain’s Prince Andrew, President Donald Trump and former President Bill Clinton. From that perch he also operated an international sex trafficking ring involving underage girls. In 2008, Epstein struck a sweetheart plea deal with the government to avoid a life sentence, enabling him to resume his luxurious lifestyle – and his abuse of young women.

The four-hour series offers first-hand accounts from Epstein’s accusers, who discuss their trauma, as well as their determination to stop predators like Epstein and to hold the American justice system accountable.

Lisa Bryant directed, with Joe Berlinger, director of Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes (also on Netflix), and bestselling author James Patterson serving as executive producers.

I’m No Longer Here

Seventeen-year-old Ulises Samperio (Juan Daniel Garcia Treviño) is the leader of “Los Terkos,” a small street gang of disaffected youth in the mountains of Monterrey, Mexico. Their passion is cumbia music and “Kolombia” culture, and Samperio tries to protect his group from a quickly evolving drug war. But a misunderstanding with a local cartel forces Samperio to flee to an immigrant community in Jackson Heights, Queens. Soon, however, he wishes to return home to Mexico.

The cast includes Angelina Chen and Jonathan Espinoza.

I’m No Longer Here is in Spanish with English subtitles.
