Penance, a three-episode psychological thriller about a mother who falls for a younger man she meets in bereavement counseling, debuts Thursday, May 21, on Sundance Now.

Rosalie Douglas’ (Julie Graham) marriage is on the rocks following her son’s death. The grief-stricken Rosalie then falls for the much younger Jed Cousins (Nico Mirallegro). The relationship sparks “a hope for the future” at first, but “a deadly and morally corrupt triangle is taking shape.”

The cast includes Neil Morrissey as Rosalie’s husband Luke, and Tallulah Greive.

The show first aired in March on the UK’s Channel 5.

Sundance Now plans start at $4.99 monthly, with a seven-day free trial.
