Turn off the lights and turn on the night vision cameras. It’s time for another haunted house investigation.

Paranormal investigator Steve Gonsalves, well-known to viewers of such reality series as Ghost Hunters and Ghost Nation, undertakes a full-length documentary in The House in Between, debuting today via numerous on-demand providers.

Gonsalves, who produced and co-directed the film, joins lead investigators John Bullard and Brad Cooney to solve the mystery behind slamming doors and other weird happenings at a modest Mississippi house. Suspecting unfriendly ghosts, homeowner Alice Jackson flees. The ghost-hunting filmmakers seek to explain it all by “blending pure science, paranormal techniques, and a richly emotional, poignant human story.”

You can rent The House in Between starting at $3.99 from Google Play, YouTube, FandangoNowVudu,  iTunesAmazon and other sources.

The mother of all recent paranormal series, Ghost Hunters, ran from 2004 to 2016 on Syfy and was revived in 2019 on A&E. The show has produced more than 260 episodes so far.

Originally, Ghost Hunters starred Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson, mild-mannered plumbers by day, mild-mannered supernatural investigators by unilluminated night. Each episode, the team would visit a different location (often a historic site), methodically document their findings, and present them reassuringly to the site’s owner or caretaker. ‘So, is the place haunted?’

You can stream 19 episodes for free on A&E.  Select episodes are also available on such subscription services as Amazon Prime, FuboTV, Philo and Sling; and can be purchased from 99 cents via Amazon, Vudu and other providers.

Another incarnation, Ghost Nation, launched last year on the Travel Channel and stars Gonsalves and Hawes. You can stream that show with subscriptions to YouTube TV, Sling, Fubo TV and Philo; or buy episodes starting at $1.99 from Amazon, Google Play, Vudu and YouTube.
