Bruce, Bon Jovi for NJ

Performances by Bruce Springsteen (with wife Patti Scialfa), Jon Bon Jovi and the surviving members of Fountains of Wayne will highlight tomorrow’s hour-long Jersey 4 Jersey fundraiser.

Jersey 4 Jersey will stream at 7 pm ET, April 22, over njtvonline.org/live and the free Apple TV app. It will also be broadcast locally on NJTV public television and on most major over-the-air channels out of New York City and Philadelphia (check local listings).

Fountains of Wayne, which hasn’t performed since 2013, will team with singer-guitarist Sharon Van Etten to honor the band’s guitarist and co-founder Adam Schlesinger, who died recently from the coronavirus at 52.

New Jersey Pandemic Relief Fund

The benefit, for the New Jersey Pandemic Relief Fund,  will also include performances by Halsey, Charlie Puth, SZA…and Tony Bennett. We’re not sure of the 93-year-old legend’s relationship to New Jersey, unless he has a view of the Garden State from his New York City apartment. Perhaps we’ll find that out tomorrow night, since everyone on the show will come to us from their homes.

Other Jerseyites joining the fundraiser will include Saquon Barkley, Danny DeVito, Whoopi Goldberg, Halsey, Chelsea Handler, Charlie Puth, Kelly Ripa, Jon Stewart and…based only on the following video…Stephen Colbert. The woman opening the video is Tammy Murphy, wife of Governor Chris Murphy.
