Two comedy institutions – the National Comedy Center and The Second City — have launched streaming projects in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.

National Comedy Center Anywhere

The National Comedy Center, a two-year-old Jamestown, NY-based museum, offers National Comedy Center Anywhere, consisting of stand-up, sketch, improv, late night TV highlights, movie clips and more.

Here’s the museum’s video on “The Healing Power of Laughter”

By our count, there are now around 50 free videos to peruse. But, for $19.50, you can get more videos plus online access for a friend and family member, and one admission ticket to the National Comedy Center when it reopens.

The Second City Presents: The Last Show Left on Earth

We’re sure that somewhere in the museum, you’ll find something about SCTV, the classic sketch comedy series from The Second City. Now, the 60-year-old improvisational troupe offers The Second City Presents: The Last Show Left on Earth, a limited-engagement, free weekly half-hour sketch comedy show.

Jack McBrayer (30 Rock) will host the first episode tonight, April 16, with guest Kelci “Saff” Saffery from Netflix’s Tiger King and musical guest Jeff Tweedy of Wilco.
