From Japan, to Netflix

Netflix starts streaming two Japanese imports today: a drama series, Followers, and the latest animated Pokémon film, Pokémon: Mewtwo Strikes Back—Evolution.


In this nine-episode subtitled series, a successful Tokyo photographer (Miki Nakatani) posts a candid Instagram photo of an aspiring actress (Elaiza Ikeda). This thrusts them into a fight to maintain social media followers as they struggle with love, careers, and friendship.

Pokémon: Mewtwo Strikes Back—Evolution

In this 98-minute English-language movie, Ash, Misty and Brock meet Mewtwo, an artificially created Pokémon built for destruction. With the future of the Pokémon world at stake, can the heroes hold back Mewtwo’s rampage?
