Redbox Free Live TV

Competing against such other free multi-channel streamers as Pluto TV, Xumo and Stirr, Redbox has launched Redbox Free Live TV.

Redbox Free Live TV currently includes over 30 ad-supported channels, with three exclusives:

Redbox Spotlight is a curated channel of “featured and recommended titles,” which this morning included a 2014 mystery movie Man From Reno and a 1990 Showtime stand-up special Tim Allen: Men Are Pigs (pictured below).

Redbox Rush includes action and adventure movies and TV shows. This morning’s offerings included Wu Dang, a 2012 martial arts fantasy film, and The Timber, a 2015 western thriller.

Redbox Comedy features movies and stand-up shows. When we tuned in, Natasha Lyonne and Aubrey Plaza were starring in a 2015 film, Addicted to Fresno, with Matt Weiner’s 2013 comedy drama Are You Here on deck.

Redbox Free Live TV groups its channels into five categories: Featured, Movies, TV, Entertainment, News and Kids.

Nearly half the service’s channels fall into the Movies category. In addition to the Redbox-branded channels, they include FilmRise, Gravitas, Maverick Movies, American Classics, and eight others.

The TV category allows you to binge on Unsolved Mysteries with Robert Stack, Best of America’s Funniest Home Videos and three others.

Five “Featured” channels that as of today include Forensic Files and family-friendly Dove Now.

Six “Entertainment” channels including Fail Army and Comedy Dynamics.

Three News channels: USA Today, TMZ and NowThis.

Two Kids channels: Kabillion and Battery Pop.

Redbox promised that 10 new channels will be added monthly.
