Now that HBO’s Silicon Valley has ended, where can you go for startup techie laughs? Might we suggest renting Appiness?

The Canadian feature film, debuting today for $3.99 at Vudu, Google Play and other providers, stars its writer/director/producer Eli Batalion as Eric, a laid-off corporate professional. Eric and a former high school buddy and techie, Raj (Varun Saranga), put together a grassroots team headed by Jeanine (Amber Goldfarb) to develop an app they hope will make them billions.

Batalian also created and co-stars in YidLife Crisis, “the world’s first Yiddish sitcom,” airing Mondays at 8:30 pm ET on JLTV.
