Love and Bullets, proclaimed as “the world’s first full-fledged Mafia musical,” will premiere Tuesday, January 28, on subscription streamer MHz Choice.

The subtitled Italian romantic comedy from 2017 involves a hitman hired to kill a nurse, who happens to be a former lover, so he sets his sights instead on his boss and the boss’ mob.

Giampaolo Morelli stars as the hitman, with Serena Rossi as the nurse. Morelli also plays the lead in MHz Choice’s comedic crime drama series Inspector Coliandro and its spinoff comedy movie Song of Napoli, both of which come from the same creative team as Love & Bullets: the Manetti Brothers. Rossi also starred in Song of Napoli.

If the title Love and Bullets sounds familiar, you may be recalling Love and Bullets, a 1979 crime drama starring Charles Bronson, Jill Ireland and Rod Steiger that is neither a musical nor a romcom. It can, however, be streamed by Amazon Prime subscribers, or, free with ads, at Shout Factory TV or Tubi. Here’s a scene:

MHZ Choice, which costs $7.99 monthly after a seven-day free trial, is now offering 50% off the first six months by using the promo code WORLD20. To subscribe, or for more info, visit
