New Year, New Dracula

BBC One celebrated New Year’s Day yesterday by unleashing episode one of a brand-new Dracula upon the United Kingdom. Another episode debuts today and the final episode tomorrow – after which Netflix will release all three 90-minute episodes to Americans this Saturday, January 4.

Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat, who previously reworked Sherlock Holmes for the four-season Sherlock (also available on Netflix), now take on Bram Stoker’s revered vampire:

Regular readers might have noticed that Gatiss and Moffat didn’t follow our suggestion of casting Sherlock’s Benedict Cumberbatch as Dracula, instead choosing Claes Bang.

And, no disrespect to Bang, but if you’d rather watch the greatest Dracula of them all, see our recent salute to Bela Lugosi.

Netflix subscribers desiring even more Dracula can check out the anime series Castlevania.
