Love at the ‘Speed of Life’

(Above: Allison Tolman and Ann Dowd both play June in ‘Speed of Life’)

June, played by Allison Tolman (Emergence, Fargo) is bereft when her idol David Bowie dies…and even more bereft when her lover Edward (Ray Santiago, Ash vs. Evil Dead) disappears into a wormhole that same day. Edward reappears, unaged, 24 years later – to the surprise of an older June, now played by Ann Dowd (The Handmaid Tale’s Aunt Lydia). Will the romance be rekindled?

So goes the plot of Speed of Life, an indie film officially opening on January 10, but available until then over Breaker for $4.99 rental or $9.99 purchase. Breaker, an app for desktop, iOS and Android, can be downloaded free at

Speed of Life, written and directed by Liz Manashil (Bread and Butter), also stars Vella Lovell (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend), Sean Wright (Just Seen It) and Jeff Perry (Cyrus in Scandal).
