Cheers for The Goldbergs!

Looking for a Cheers reboot? Pretty unlikely, but four stars of that ‘80s sitcom will reunite on ABC’s current ‘80s-set sitcom, The Goldbergs, next Wednesday, October 9, at 8 pm ET/PT.

Kirstie Alley (Rebecca), Rhea Perlman (Carla), John Ratzenberger (Cliff) and George Wendt (Norm) play customers of Geoff Schwartz’s new food delivery service who, by episode’s end, get invited to the Goldbergs’ house. But, notes ABC, “you might mistake it for a bar where everyone knows your name.”

If that gets you nostalgic for the original Cheers, which ran 11 seasons on NBC from 1982 to 1993, you can stream the show’s first 10 episodes free on CBS.com, all 275 episodes on subscription services CBS All Access, Netflix and Hulu, or the first nine seasons on Amazon Prime.

The Goldbergs is now in its seventh season. If you haven’t watched the show before and want to play catch up, the entire series (142 episodes so far) is available to Hulu subscribers.

The Cheers gang’s visit to The Goldbergs is part of ABC’s “Cast From the Past,” a week of reunions which starts this Monday, October 7. Other highlights include:

Drew Carey regulars guest on American Housewife

A week from tonight, October 11, at 8 pm, three cast members of The Drew Carey Show – Carey himself, Ryan Stiles and Kathy Kinney – will reunite with American Housewife co-star Diedrich Bader. Kinney plays a school lunch lady, Stiles an environmentalist, and Carey is “Mr. Green,” who helps put on a school show.

The Drew Carey Show, centering on the life of an average guy in Cleveland, OH, ran for nine seasons and 233 episodes on ABC from 1995 to 2004. You can buy the first season (22 episodes) for $19.99 from Google Play.

American Housewife, now in its fourth season, will air its 72nd episode tonight. All episodes can be streamed by Hulu subscribers. Kate Mixon stars in the title role as an average woman living amongst the wealthy in Westport, CT. Bader plays her husband.

The Conners meet Blues Brothers 2000

Dan Aykroyd guests on The Conners (Tuesday, October 8, 8 pm), reuniting him with his Blues Brothers 2000 co-star and series regular John Goodman. They play poker buddies.

Blues Brothers 2000, which came out in 1998, is a musical comedy romp in the spirit of The Blues Brothers (1980), where original Blues Brother John Belushi partnered with Aykroyd. You can stream both flicks with a Starz subscription or rent them for $3.99 each from various providers.

The Conners, in its second season, is a continuation of Roseanne minus Roseanne Barr. All 13 episodes so far can be streamed with a Hulu subscription. If you want to go further back, nine seasons of the original Roseanne (ABC, 222 episodes, 1988 to 1997) are available with an Amazon Prime subscription. You can also watch the first four seasons free with ads on Sony Crackle. The eight-episode 2018 revival is not available.

Wet Hot American Summer meets Bless This Mess

Bless This Mess will follow The Conners at 8:30 pm Tuesday with series star Lake Bell being reunited with Michael Ian Black, her co-star in Netflix’s two Wet Hot American Summer sequels.

Bless This Mess, which sounds like a modern version of the classic sitcom Green Acres, is about a New York couple (Bell and Dax Shepard) who move to a Nebraska farm. Eight episodes have aired so far over two seasons, but only this season’s first two shows are streaming on Hulu.

Wet Hot American Summer First Day of Camp (2015) and Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later (2017), with eight episodes apiece, can be streamed by Netflix subscribers, as can the original 2001 cult classic feature film, in which Black also appeared.

Girlfriends visit Black-ish

Black-ish, at 9:30 pm Tuesday, will find series star Tracee Ellis Ross reunited with her Girlfriends co-stars Golden Brooks, Jill Marie Jones and Persia White. In the episode, Bow (Ross) invites three of her, yes, girlfriends to join her feminist group.

Girlfriends aired for eight seasons (172 episodes) from 2000 to 2008 on UPN and then The CW. Streamers can buy the final season (13 episodes) for $9.99 from Amazon or iTunes.

Black-ish is now in its sixth season. All 120 episodes so far can be binged on Hulu.
