‘Firebrand’ on Netflix

Netflix will expand its international offerings this Friday, February 22, with the debut of Firebrand, a drama in Marathi with English subtitles.

Produced by Priyanka Chopra and Madhu Chopra, the film is Netflix’s first original film in Marathi, a language spoken by an estimated 83 million people in Maharashtra, India.

Firebrand tells the story of a successful lawyer (Usha Jadhav), who must deal with PTSD following a sexual assault. She must handle tough family cases while confronting intimacy issues in her own marriage. More broadly, the film focuses on the difficulties of modern relationships.
