Cider with Rosie debuts today on Acorn TV. This 2015 BBC One film is an adaptation of of Laurie Lee’s 1959 memoir about growing up in a Cotswolds village during and after World War I. Two-time Oscar nominee Samantha Morton (Sweet and Lowdown, In America) stars as Lee’s mother Annie. Here’s a trailer:
Subscribers to Amazon Prime or Hallmark Movies Now can also stream Cider with Rosie, a 1998 ITV version starring Juliet Stevenson. Or it can be rented for $2.99, also from Amazon. Here’s a clip:
An even earlier BBC version of Cider with Rosie, from 1971 and starring Rosemary Leach, is not streaming anywhere, nor could we find a trailer or clip. A DVD is available from $6.48 at Amazon, but only viewable if you can play Region 2 discs.
