Care Bears Return

You can’t keep the Care Bears down!  Every few years, the colorful characters emerge from hybernation with a new animated TV series. The latest, Care Bears: Unlock the Magic (pictured above), debuts this Friday, February 1, on subscription streamer Boomerang.

This series of 12 episodes, each lasting 22 minutes, features a large cast, so we’ll let Bedtime Bear introduce them via video:

Other TV Series

If you care about the Care Bears. don’t have Boomerang, but subscribe to Netflix, you can already stream Care Bears and Cousins. This series of 12 episodes, each lasting 22 minutes, premiered over two seasons in 2015 and 2016.

Two previous Care Bears series aren’t available for streaming:

Care Bears: Welcome to Care-A-Lot, 26 half-hour episodes, which debuted in 2012 on The Hub (now Discovery Family).

Care Bears (aka The Care Bears Family), 60 half-hours which were originally syndicated from 1985 to 1988.

Movies and TV Specials

Over the years, the Care Bears have also starred in five TV specials and nine movies.

One of the specials, 1988’s Care Bares: The Nutcracker, can be rented for $3.99 from several providers.

Amazon Prime subscribers can stream one of the movies: 1986’s Care Bare Movie II: A New Generation.

Four of the other movies can be rented from various sites for $2.99 or $3.99: 2004’s Care Bears: Journey to Joke-a-lot, and three from 2010: Care Bears: To the Rescue, Care Bears: The Giving Festival and Care Bears: Share Bear Shines.
