GOTV Telethon Tonight

Tonight We Laugh. Tomorrow We Vote.”

That’s the tagline of The Telethon for America, a two-hour, star-studded Get Out the Vote comedy and music extravaganza streaming live tonight at 9 pm ET.

“Tomorrow Night We Cry?”

None of that now! The Telethon for America is officially a non-partisan event — organized by Michelle Obama’s (equally non-partisan) When We All Vote non-profit. Its goal: Increase turnout of young voters.

The telethon is the creation of comedian Ben Gleib (that’s him in the video above).

Some 50 celebrities are slated to appear, including Chelsea Handler, Amy Schumer, Charlize Theron, Jane Fonda, Adam Devine, Judd Apatow, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Connie Britton, Sophia Bush, Tom Arnold, Minnie Driver, Debra Messing, Sean Hayes, Wyatt Cenac, Mary McCormack, Pharrell, the Backstreet Boys, Alyssa Milano, Lilly Singh, Russell Peters and Olivia Munn.

The Telethon for America claims to be the first telethon ever that doesn’t want you to donate any money. Instead, it seeks your pledge that you’ll vote tomorrow.

Indeed, you can go to telethonforamerica.com right now to fill out a pledge form, which will enter you for the chance to be phoned tonight by one of the show’s celebrities.

You can watch the telethon live tonight at 9 pm ET on telethonforamerica.com, Facebook, YouTube and elsewhere on the web and social media.
