All Arts, All the Time

New site covers dance, film, music, theater and more, with videos galore.

Last night, between sets by Ruthie Foster and Brandi Carlile at Prospect Park’s Celebrate Brooklyn, our ears perked up at the mention of a new festival sponsor, All Arts.

Targeted to New Yorkers, but accessible by anyone, All Arts is a digital destination that covers dance, film, music, theater and other creative areas. Much of the content consists of news-driven articles, but you’ll find lots of supporting videos.

Here, for instance, in a series titled Under a Minute, actor Jose Sonera discusses iconic comedian Freddie Prinze, whom he’ll portray in an upcoming one-man theatrical show:

Other videos on All Arts include 30-Minute Music Hour, featuring such acts as Radio Free Honduras and Yellow-Bellied Sapsuckers; Art in the 21st Century and The All-Star Orchestra; plus episodes of American Masters, Austin City Limits and even Antiques Roadshow.

All Arts also has a section called The Vault, where you’ll find such fare as “Robin Williams Remembered” on Pioneers of Television, and Gershwin Prize salutes to Smokey Robinson and Willie Nelson.

All Arts, from New York Public Media, is a sister service of WNET and WLIW. You can find it at

Even more from All Arts: Here’s some Shakespeare from Central Park.

And, lest we forget, The Savvy Screener would like to thank All Arts for sponsoring Celebrate Brooklyn!
