Smart Ladies = Smart TV

Strong female leads will take center stage on a new over-the-air channel, Start TV, launching Labor Day, September 3, with such long-running procedural dramas as The Closer (Kyra Sedgwick, 109 episodes) and Medium (Patricia Arquette, 130 eps).

Start TV comes from the folks behind the Decades channel: Weigel Broadcasting and CBS. If you get Decades with an antenna hooked up to your TV set, rescan your signals come September 4 and you’ll likely find Start TV right alongside Decades.

The exact schedule hasn’t been announced, but Weigel and CBS said shows will air at the same time seven days a week, with multi-hour blocks of “headliner programs.”

Other Start TV shows at launch will include Cold Case (Kathryn Morris, 156 eps), Profiler (Ally Walker, 85 eps) and The Division (Bonnie Bedelia, Taraji P. Henson, Nancy McKeon, 88 eps).

In January, 2019, the channel will add The Good Wife (Julianna Margulies, Christine Baranski, 156 eps) and Crossing Jordan (Jill Hennessy, 117 eps).
