Episode one of the BBC’s McMafia, a series which ran on the AMC cable channel earlier this year, is now streaming free without commercials on AMC-owned Sundance Now. The remaining seven episodes will be available starting Thursday, July 19, only to Sundance Now subscribers.

Based on journalist Misha Glenny’s 2008 nonfiction book of the same name,  the drama stars James Norton in an epic tale of international organized crime.

McMafia was filmed on location in 11 different countries, including Croatia, Russia. Israel, Belize and the UK.

BBC One has renewed the series for a second season in the UK.

You can find the free episode of McMafia at sundancenow.com/mcmafia/series/4123261.

Subscriptions to Sundance Now, offering independent films, documentaries and TV series, start at $4.99 monthly following a seven-day free trial. The service is available at sundancenow.com or via iOS, Android, Roku, Apple TV, Xbox, Fire TV and Chromecast.
