Let Zeus Loose!

Launching a major project on a Friday the 13th just might invite disaster.

Perhaps that’s why Zeus, a subscription streaming service originally scheduled to go live at 9 am ET this morning, is now set to debut at 12:30 am on Saturday the 14th. To be fair, however, that’s still 9:30 pm Friday on the West Coast.

So who are these risk-takers?

Zeus was co-founded by three social media influencers — DeStorm Power, Amanda Cerny and King Bach – who, along with a bevy of peers, are confident they’ll convince a good portion of their combined 120 million followers to pay for the type of content they’re accustomed to getting for free.

Indeed, just two days after receiving an Emmy nomination as Outstanding Actor in a Short Form Comedy or Drama for season one of his free multiplatform series Caught, Power will debut season two only on Zeus. Until then, here’s the first of the 20 free episodes:

For $3.99 a month, the initial Zeus library will also include more than 30 brand-new series covering a wide range of genres, with such titles as:

 Your Best Life

In each episode, King Bach visits the home, office or hangout of such celebrities as rappers Snoop Dogg and Rich the Kidd, and actor/YouTube personality Jake Paul.

A Taste of Dance With Amanda Cerny

In each episode, Cerny and viewers get a different dance lesson – such as salsa, hip-hop and belly dancing – from a top choreographer.

Life With Lil Tay

A docuseries following the controversial nine-year-old rapper.

Ice Cream

Singer Liane V stars in a spoof of the Liam Neeson Taken movie franchise. Her real-life boyfriend, Don Benjamin, an America’s Next Top Model finalist and Guess model, co-stars. Benjamin also stars in another Zeus series, Shirtless Cheffin, a continuation of a formerly free show in which he cooks topless. Here’s the first of those free episodes:

Barring further delays, you can access Zeus starting tonight via thezeusnetwork.com or iOS, with Android and Amazon apps also promised.
