A six-part third season of the British-French crime drama The Tunnel will debut Sunday, July 1, at 10:30 pm ET on PBS and online (but check local listings for the time/day in your area).
In season three, titled The Tunnel: Vengeance, detectives Karl Roebuck (Stephen Dillane) and Elise Wasserman (Clémence Poésy) resume their Anglo-French partnership to deal with an “escalating refugee crisis” and “the increasing threat of terror occasioned by disenfranchised, exiled souls on whom society has turned its back.”
“When the question posed by the couple – what is a life worth? – is directed straight back at Karl, he is forced to confront an utterly impossible choice.”
Emilia Di Girolamo, Louise Ironside, Jamie Crichton and John Jackson co-wrote the third season. The series is based on a Swedish-Danish series The Bridge, which was created by Hans Rosenfeldt, Måns Mårlind and Björn Stein.
