Stream Local Channels

AirTV has introduced an over-the-air (OTA) “solution” that allows viewers to stream local broadcast channels.

A box connecting an OTA antenna and a wi-fi network allows free local channels to stream on internet-connected TVs and mobile devices, in or out of the home.

Local affiliates of such networks as ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC and PBS can be streamed via the Sling TV or AirTV app on Roku, Amazon Fire TV, and iOS or Android phones and tablets.

The box also allows viewers to stream other over-the-air channels like MeTV, Heroes & Icons and GetTV.

AirTV notes that more than 50 over-the-air channels are available in many major markets .

“Our new AirTV solution solves two problems: first, it blends free local channels with OTT television, something customers have demanded since the advent of streaming,” said Mitch Weinraub, director of product development for AirTV. “And, because it’s a wi-fi-enabled device, you can power your entire home with one OTA antenna, simplifying the installation process.”

AirTV says its box eliminates the need to wire multiple rooms with individual antennas. It also provides two live OTA streams simultaneously. Viewers have the option of viewing both streams inside the home, or one inside and the other outside.

Sling TV users can integrate AirTV directly into their accounts. Non-Sling customers can set up a free Sling TV account to access their local channels via AirTV. They can also set up a free account with the stand-alone AirTV app.

AirTV is available at, on Amazon, and from retailers like Microcenter, for $119.99 with a one-year warranty.

OTA antennas can be purchased separately at or at local retailers.
