In the new YouTube series Jack Whitehall: Training Days, the British comedian seeks to find out if some of the world’s best-known soccer players can take a joke.

In the first episode, Whitehall tests the patience of the notoriously short-tempered Premier League club Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho (he storms off during filming), while persuading Gareth Bale, who plays for Real Madrid, to scare unsuspecting guests in a Spanish wax museum.

You can watch that episode here:

Future episodes will feature footballers Peter Schmeichel, Benjamin Mendy, Tim Cahill, Jerome Boateng, Son Heung-Min, Radamel Falcao, Mario Götze, Alvaro Morata, Kasper Schmeichel, Kyle Walker, Thomas Müller, Dele Alli, Jan Vertonghen and Mousa Dembélé.

“One of the great things about comedy is getting out of your comfort zone, so I certainly made it my job to get these football stars out of theirs,” said Whitehall. “It’s been great working with them on Training Days and showing fans a different side to them. Filming this series has been a great warm-up to the World Cup.”

Fulwell 73 developed and produced the series.  The Late Late Show’s James Corden serves as an executive producer.

Future episodes will be available on Whitehall’s YouTube channel.
