Free Kanopy Kids

Kanopy, the free streaming service offered through participating local libraries and higher education campuses, now provides children’s videos under the banner Kanopy Kids.

The expanded collection has about 500 children’s titles, with plans for an additional 100 videos each month.

The child-friendly library offers live action and animated films, and TV series, in the following categories, with sample titles listed:

Movies for Younger Kids Eleanor’s Secret, Maya the Bee MovieErnest and Celestine;

TV series for Younger Kids – Arthur, Calliou, Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood;

Story Time: Literary Classics – Curious George Rides a Bike, Where the Wild Things Are, Hansel and Gretel;

Classic Tales – Cinderella, Chicken Little, The Emperor’s New Clothes;

Tales from History – Duke Ellington, Martin’s Big WordsGenghis Khan;

Movies for Older Kids – Charlie Chaplin’s Modern Times, Buster Keaton’s The General, and The Secret of Kells;

TV Series for Older Kids – Class of the Titans, Curiosity QuestClick and Clack: As the Wrench Turns.

Kanopy Kids also features videos about nature, nutrition, science, math and learning languages.

“Parents can trust a curated selection of educational and enriching videos on Kanopy Kids with developmentally appropriate, age-based ratings from Common Sense Media, as well as additional parental controls to keep kids safe,” the service announced.

You can stream Kanopy’s adult and children’s catalogs online, or via RokuiOS and Android apps.
