Viewers can now stream — for free — the pilot for ABC’s upcoming science-fiction drama series The Crossing on abc.com, via the ABC app, and from numerous other platforms.

The Crossing, starring Steve Zahn as Jude Ellis, the sheriff of a small Oregon fishing town, will air Mondays at 10 pm ET starting April 2.

Ellis, with his young son, relocates to Port Canaan, attempting to leave behind “a strained marriage and a dark past as a big city cop.” Ellis’ “plans for a quiet life change instantly when 47 refugees from a war-torn country wash up on his beach seeking asylum. But the country they’re from is America … and the war they’re fleeing is 180 years in the future.”

The cast includes Rick Gomez as deputy sheriff Nestor Rosario, Natalie Martinez, Sandrine Holt, Georgina Haig, Tommy Bastow, Rob Campbell, Marcuis W. Harris, Grant Harvey, Jay Karnes, Simone Kessell, Kelley Missal, Luc Roderique and Bailey Skodje. Luke Camilleri has a recurring role.

Dan Dworkin and Jay Beattie are co-creators and executive producers of the series.

Viewers can stream the pilot for free through March 30.
