Sean Bean in ‘The Oath’

The Oath, a 10-episode series focusing on the world of gangs, launches today, March 8, on free streamer Crackle.

The drama promises to shine “light on corrupt and secret societies that are nearly impossible to join.” It will take “an unforgiving look at the complicated dynamics in these organizations” and detail “the lives of those willing to risk it all, to have it all.”

Game of Thrones’ Sean Bean plays Tom Hammond, “a hard-charging cop and ruthless leader of the prominent gang made up of those who are meant to enforce the law. After doing a deal with an undercover FBI agent, Hammond finds himself behind bars but after he’s released, his desire to make his way back to the top of the food chain and back in control of the gang he once led puts him head to head with those who used to have his back.”

The cast also includes True Blood’s Ryan Kwanten, American Sniper’s Cory Hardrict, The Magicians’ Arlen Escarpeta, Training Day’s Katrina Law, Animal Kingdom’s J.J. Soria, The Vampire Diaries’ Michael Malarkey, CSI Miami’s Eve Mauro, The Wire’s Kwame Patterson, Homeland’s Linda Purl, and Law & Order’s Elisabeth Röhm.

The Oath is executive produced by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and his company G-Unit Film & Television, Inc. Former Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Joe Halpin, now an established Hollywood writer and producer of TV police procedurals, is both creator and writer for the series, with Jeff T. Thomas directing.
