Hulu’s ‘Hard Sun’ Rises

Hard Sun, a six-episode British series that adds a sci-fi element to the classic good cop/bad cop plot, launched today on Hulu.

“In a world that every day slips closer to certain destruction” (our guess, without having seen the series, is that the earth is heading towards the sun, or vice versa!), Agyness Deyn and Jim Sturgess play the good and bad cops respectively.  In the midst of pending disaster, they must “enforce the law…protect their loved ones” and “somehow learn to work together if they’re going to survive until the end of the world.”

Hard Sun is a co-production of Hulu and the BBC, which premiered the series in January. It was produced and written by Neil Cross, who also created and wrote the BBC’s Luther, now streaming on Netflix.
