Nostalgia Time at TVS

TVS Television Network this morning announced it had “updated” its TVS Nostalgia Network, accessible via Dailymotion.

The update didn’t seem to have taken effect when we checked in, however. Instead of the promised 250 episodes from dozens of series like The Dick Van Dyke Show, Bonanza, Green Acres and Gomer Pyle, we found such shows as Robin Hood, Life of Riley, The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet, The Jack Benny Show and Stump the Stars. Here’s one of the latter’s TVS episodes, guest starring teen idol Fabian and singer/actress Julie London:

TVS offers 72 free ad-supported “micro-channels,” all of which can be found on Dailymotion. Other channels include the the TVS Classic TV Channel, boasting another 250 episodes, TVS Music Network (10 videos including three episodes of The Liberace Show), TVS Frontier Channel (159 episodes of classic western series) and – harking back to TVS’ 60-year-old roots as a sports syndicator, primarily of college basketball – the TVS Classic Sports Network (101 videos). Here, en route to their first-ever Final Four appearance in 1975, the Syracuse Orangemen take on the North Carolina Tar Heels:
