Netflix has renewed Dark, its German mystery-drama about the disappearance of two children, for a second season.

The streamer didn’t provide a release date.

Presented with English subtitles, Dark, which debuted its first season of 10 hour-long episodes this month, explores how “the disappearance of two young children exposes the double lives and fractured relationships among four families…The question is not who has kidnapped the children…but when.” As the season progresses, the show “takes on a supernatural twist that ties back to the same town in 1986.”

Dark’s cast includes Oliver Masucci, Karoline Eichhorn, Jördis Triebel, Louis Hofmann and Maja Schöne. Baran bo Odar directed and Jantje Friese wrote the series.

The service said Dark, its first original German production, “is now one of the most-watched entirely non-English shows on Netflix.”

Season one is available now at Netflix.
