The Last Post, British producer/writer Peter Moffat’s first series since HBO’s The Night Of, premieres this Friday, December 22, on Amazon Prime.

The six-episode drama, which ran in October on BBC One, is based on Moffat’s own childhood memories of life in Yemen during the mid-1960s, where his father served as an officer in Britain’s Royal Military Police and his mother struggled “between being what the army required her to be and what she felt like being.” Meanwhile, with “constant insurgency and threat…danger [was] everywhere.”

The series, which focuses on how the social and political unrest affects officers and their families, stars Jessica Raine (Call The Midwife), Jessie Buckley (War and Peace), Jeremy Neumark Jones (Denial), Amanda Drew (Broadchurch), Ben Miles (The Crown) and Stephen Campbell Moore (History Boys).

You can stream The Last Post starting Friday on Amazon Prime.
