Sling Adds to the Carte

Sling TV, the live and on-demand streaming service, has launched three new channels: CuriosityStream, UP Faith & Family and Pantaya.

The channels are available as individual add-ons to subscribers of specified Sling TV plans. Subscribers are receiving a free preview of the new channels through December 13.

CuriosityStream offers more than 1,500 science, history, technology and nature documentaries, without commercials. The channel is an extra $6 per month for subscribers to Sling Orange, Sling Blue, Spanish language and/or International services.

UP Faith & Family, which offers more than 1,000 family-friendly titles, has the UP TV cable channel drama series Heartland and the movie Bringing Up Bates in its library. The channel costs $5 per month for Sling Orange, Sling Blue and/or Spanish-language service subscribers.

Pantaya, a joint venture between Lionsgate and Hemisphere Media Group, launched in August as the first Spanish-language subscription streaming service for the US Hispanic community. It offers movies in Spanish, including No Manches Frida and Everybody Loves Somebody. Subscribers can also watch films while they are in theaters in Mexico and Latin America. Pantaya is a $6 per month add-on channel available to those with a Sling Orange, Sling Blue, Spanish-language and/or Brazilian service plan.

UP Faith & Family costs $5.99 a month – or $53.99 annually – after a 30-day free trial. The service can be accessed at and via iOS and Android devices.

Pantaya costs $5.99 per month after a seven-day free trial. You can get it on the web; on iOS, Android and Roku devices; or as an Amazon Prime add-on.
