Following its recent addition of classic “TGIF” shows, Hulu will be the streaming home for several more-recent ABC-owned series.
The headliner is Designated Survivor with Kiefer Sutherland, with all 21 episodes of season one and the first eight episodes of season two available now.
Sutherland is Tom Kirkman, who ascends from HUD secretary to the presidency in an instant when a catastrophic attack on the US Capitol during the State of the Union address leaves him next in line.
Other shows available now on Hulu include:
The Catch: This comedy-drama series stars Mireille Enos as Alice Vaughn, a private investigator who becomes the victim of a fraud perpetrated by con man and former fiancé Benjamin Jones, played by Peter Krause. There are two 10-episode seasons.
Shadowhunters: The supernatural series from Freeform (formerly ABC Family) features Katherine McNamara as Clary Fray, who discovers on her 18th birthday that she is a Shadowhunter, a human born with angelic blood who protect humans from demons. She joins with other Shadowhunters to track down her missing mother and to otherwise engage in devil hunting. Season three premieres on Freeform in April 2018.
Marvel’s Agent Carter: Set in 1946, Haley Atwell stars as Peggy Carter who works as a secretary for the Strategic Scientific Reserve (SSR). When Howard Stark (Dominic Cooper) is accused of treason, he secretly recruits Peggy to clear his name with the help of his butler, Edwin Jarvis (James D’Arcy). The show is “inspired “by Marvel’s Captain America: The First Avenger and Marvel’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier, along with the short Marvel One-Shot: Agent Carter. There are two seasons totaling 18 episodes.
Blossom: Hulu has acquired all five seasons of the ’90s sitcom starring The Big Bang Theory’s Mayim Bialik “as a teenage girl living in a house run by men who dreams about what life would be like if she lived in a more conventional family.”
Debuting in December:
Revenge: Emily VanCamp (pictured left) is Emily Thorne, “a mysterious woman who comes to the Hamptons to exact revenge on the people who destroyed her family.” The cast includes Madeleine Stowe and Gabriel Mann. All four seasons debut December 7.
Bunheads: Another series from Freeform, Bunheads stars Sutton Foster as a former Las Vegas showgirl working alongside her mother-in-law in a sleepy coastal town dance school. All 18 episodes arrive December 14.
Coming in 2018:
Cougar Town starring Courtney Cox; and Perception, with Eric McCormack as Dr. Daniel Pierce, a neuropsychiatrist with schizophrenia who assists the FBI on complex cases.
Hulu has two subscription plans: $5.99 a month with commercials; $11.99 a month with no ads. Both offer the first month free.
