‘Buddy System’ 2

Rhett & Link’s Buddy System, a fictional comedy series about the co-hosts of the real-life web-based talk show Good Mythical Morning, returns this Wednesday, November 29, for a second, eight-episode season on subscription streamer YouTube Red.

In their sophomore season, the two stars, Rhett McLaughlin and Charles “Link” Neal, explore an existential question: What if they had never met in the first grade and became hosts of Good Mythical Morning? The second season occurs in a “parallel universe, where instead of growing up together in North Carolina, they meet as adults in Los Angeles after Link is forced to move into Rhett’s empty top bunk.” Would they still form the “‘buddy system’ their counterparts enjoy in this universe?”

Veep’s Tony Hale, Big Bang Theory’s Mayim Bialik, Taladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby’s Leslie Bibb and former Daily Show correspondent and Ballers’ star Rob Corddry make guest appearances in season two.

Also joining the cast are Safety Not Guaranteed’s Mary Lynn Rajskub, MADtv’s Michael McDonald, Blue Mountain State’s Page Kennedy, Anchorman’s David Koechner, Broke Girls’ Garrett Morris and Popstar’s Alison Rich.

Steve Pink directed. The original creative team – McLaughlin, Neal, and Stevie Wynne Levine – are among the executive producers.

YouTube Red subscribers who have never seen Rhett & Link’s Buddy System can binge the nine-episode first season now.
