A Second Beatification

Two months after the Catholic Church‘s first beatification of someone born in the US, it’s time for number two! You can stream the beatification mass for Father Solanus Casey, live from Detroit, at 4 pm ET tomorrow over CatholicTV.

Father Casey (1870-1957), a friar who co-founded Detroit’s Capuchin Soup Kitchen, was approved for beatification due to a church-approved miraculous healing. Beatification is one step in a process that could result in Father Casey being canonized as either the first or second American-born saint.
