HeroTalkies in Tamil

A press release from online video platform provider Brightcove alerted us to HeroTalkies, a subscription streaming service providing Tamil-language content to the Indian diaspora.

Brightcove said HeroTalkies features up to eight new movies a month, just a few weeks after their release in Indian theaters. The service has more than 850 features in its library, as well as comedy clips, some 100 short films, and kids’ shows. In addition to the on-demand content, HeroTalkies subscribers also get Lebara Play Live TV, offering some 40 linear Tamil-language channels.

Subscription plans start at $4.99 a month, quarterly plans at $12.99, and annual plans at $49.99, all with a seven-day free trial. You can currently get 30% off with the code “DEPAVALI.”  You can also rent HeroTalkies films starting at 99 cents each.

HeroTalkies is available on the web, iOS and Android devices, Roku, Apple TV, Fire TV, Android TV and other devices.

Here’s a trailer for the recently added Rubaii, an action flick starring Chandran and Anandhi:
