Garrett M. Goodwin, a 9/11 first responder, shares his personal experiences in the short documentary In His Own Words.

The film focuses on Goodwin’s 24 days at Ground Zero rescuing and recovering victims of the 9/11 terrorist attack on New York City’s World Trade Center. Goodwin retraces his steps as he returns to the site for the first time 15 years.

A former army combat medic, Goodwin was “one of the many who tirelessly gave their time to assist in the rescue and recovery of thousands affected by the senseless attack… A calling Garrett eagerly volunteered for and unknowingly at the time, permanently changing the direction of his life.”

Goodwin helped found The American Heroes Foundation, a non-profit organization that helps military personnel, veterans, first responders and their families deal with “unforeseen circumstances, emotional adversity, or financial issues. “

Goodwin is also author of the book  A Hero’s Natural Response: Garrett M. Goodwin’s Journey Through Life And Rescue Work.

In His Own Words is available now on Amazon. You can stream the film with an Amazon Prime subscription; rent it for $2.99; or buy it for $9.99. All proceeds will benefit The American Heroes Foundation and promote Camp Thrive, which helps military, veterans and first-responders.
