Showtime is allowing everyone to try the first episode of its new half-hour comedy White Famous, starring Saturday Night Live’s Jay Pharoah, for free. The series premieres officially on Sunday, October 15.

The series, based on the experiences of comedian and Academy Award-winning actor Jamie Fox, stars Pharoah as Floyd Mooney, a rising young comedian who must “navigate the treacherous waters of maintaining his credibility as he begins to cross over into the world of becoming ‘white famous.'”

The cast includes The Mindy Project’s Utkarsh Ambudkar as Floyd’s agent, Malcolm; The Last Man on Earth’s Cleopatra Coleman as Floyd’s ex-girlfriend Sadie; This is Us’ Lonnie Chavis as Floyd and Sadie’s son; and Feed the Beast’s Jacob Ming-Trent as Ron Balls, Floyd’s roommate. The Goldbergs‘ Stephen Tobolowsky guest stars in the  pilot.

The series premiere is now available free on YouTube, SHO.com, showtime.com and other providers of Showtime’s streaming services.
