Stream Streamys Tuesday

The 7th Annual Streamy Awards will live-stream on Twitter this Tuesday, September 26, at 9:30 pm ET. The event, from the Beverly Hilton, is presented by dick clark productions and Tubefilter.

With YouTuber Jon Cozart as host, it remains to be seen whether the Streamys will deliver the same comic jabs about Donald Trump that peppered last week’s Emmys, but you can count on this — The Village People.

The ’70s disco group – famous for such hits as “Macho Man,” “YMCA” (a favorite of The New York Yankees’ grounds crew), and “In the Navy” – is to perform a medley of its songs.

As for the nominees, YouTube personality and filmmaker Casey Neistat and go90’s series Mr. Student Body President lead with six nominations each. DeStorm Power’s independent drama series Caught; actor, comedian and author Lilly Singh aka IISuperwomanII; and Steven Suptic’s show Sugar Pine 7 each have four nominations.

The number of fan-chosen nominees and categories is extensive. You can peruse the full list at streamys.org.

Winners will be chosen by the Streamys Blue Ribbon Panel, made up of creators, executives, and “other experts in the online video industry.”

Fan voting remains open for two Audience Choice categories: Creator of the Year and Show of the Year. Voting for those categories ends at 10 pm ET, September 26, 30 minutes into the program. For more information on how to vote, read the Streamys Voting FAQ.
