Baldwin’s Philharmonic

Alec Baldwin tonight will host a live Facebook stream of the New York Philharmonic’s season-opening concert: Mahler’s Fifth Symphony, including the classic “Adagietto,” conducted by Jaap van Zweden.

To access the concert, from David Geffen Hall at Lincoln Center, go to facebook.com/nyphilharmonic starting at 7:25 pm ET tonight. It will also be available on demand for the next 45 days at nyphil.org, Facebook and YouTube.

Baldwin, a Philharmonic board member, also hosts the Philharmonic’’s radio broadcasts, and is artistic director of The Art of the Score, pairing classic films with live concerts. Next up, for five performances in April 2018: Amadeus (1984), the Oscar-winning biography of Mozart — with the composer’s works done live by the Philharmonic and a choir.
