AMC Network’s streaming service, Sundance Now, will debut a three-part BBC crime drama and a six-part comedy from Britain’s Channel 4 this fall.

The drama, Rillington Place, is based on the true story of a serial killer in London’s Notting Hill in the 1940s and 1950s. Tim Roth plays John “Reg” Christie, the man responsible for strangling at least eight people, and Nico Mirallegro is Timothy Evans, the man who was erroneously hanged for Christie’s crimes. Samantha Morton also stars as Christie’s wife, Ethel.

Each episode, which is presented from the separate viewpoints of Ethel, Timothy and John, retraces the steps that led to false accusations against Evans while Christie remained free. The case of injustice helped lead to the abolition of capital punishment in Great Britain.

Rillington Place will premiere Thursday, October 5.

The comedy series, Back, which The Savvy Screener wrote about in July, has moved its debut date to Thursday, November 2.

Back marks the return of the British comedy duo of David Mitchell and Robert Webb. Mitchell plays Stephen, who “tries to follow in his recently deceased father’s footsteps and take over the family” pub. His “plans are soon foiled by the unexpected return of his estranged foster brother” Andrew (Webb) whom he regards “as a glib, dangerous sociopath who’s about to steal his family, his business and his life.”

Mitchell and Webb previously co-starred in the British sitcom, Peep Show (2003-2015), about odd-couple 20-something roommates, Mark and Jez. Oscar-winning screenwriter Simon Blackwell, who also wrote for Peep Show, will serve as a writer for Back. You can stream Peep Show on Amazon with a Prime subscription or by purchasing episodes and seasons individually.

Sundance Now, which offers independent films, documentaries and TV series, costs $6.99 monthly or $59.99 annually after a seven-day free trial. It’s available at Sundancenow.com, or via iOS, Android, Roku, Apple TV, Xbox, Fire TV and Chromecast.
