YouTube Red will seek to mine the competitive gaming world for laughs when it unveils Good Game, a scripted comedy series described as “The Bad News Bears of the eSports world,” on Wednesday, August 30.

Good Game stars YouTube Game Grumps channel stars Dan Avidan and Arin Hanson. Avidan is Alex, the team’s “unorthodox” manager and “eternal optimist,” and Hanson is Ryland, the “star team player” and “a miserable slacker.” Together, they “recruit a team of misfits to take on the eSports establishment” and compete for a spot in a fictional game tournament. The cast also includes Michele Morrow as Ash, “an industry insider turned teammate,” Sons of Anarchy’s Michael Ornstein, Californication’s Oliver Cooper, Rahul Abburi and Jade Payton.

The series was created by Morrow and Jesse Cox, both eSports industry and gaming professionals.

YouTube Red costs $9.99 a month, with a free one-month trial.
