Acorn TV, the streaming service for fans of shows from the British commonwealth, will start showing the first eight-episode season of Newton’s Law, a comedy-drama series about an Australian lawyer, this fall.

Claudia Karvan plays Josephine Newton, “a suburban solicitor who attempts to return to her briefly glorious career at the Bar.” The cast includes Black Sails’ Toby Schmitz, Thor’s Brett Tucker and The Sapphires’ Miranda Tapsell.

Produced by Every Cloud Productions, the company behind Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries, The Guardian describes the Australian program as “light and sweet – but maybe that’s what we need right now.”

You can watch Acorn TV on your computer, Apple TV, Roku, iOS and other devices. It costs $4.99 for a monthly subscription or $49.99 for a year. For more, visit Acorn.TV.
