Search Engine Optimization (SEO) might seem an esoteric subject for a movie to some viewers. Yet for the millions of businesses that rely on search traffic to survive, SEO can be high drama.

Internet marketing company Ignite Visibility has produced and released SEO: The Movie, a documentary that explore the rise of the internet marketing industry. It starts with SEO’s early days, “when people were ‘spamming and jamming,’” then covers “the unique and often rocky stories of the industry’s pioneers … and provides a forecast on where the future of SEO is going from the industry’s top minds.”

“There are so many people who have contributed to the field of SEO,” said Ignite Visibility’s CEO John Lincoln. “I have tremendous respect for the pioneers of the industry and those still contributing today. This movie really covers it all. The history, the parties, Google updates, black hat vs. white hat, and more.”
