The second season of anime series Attack on Titan (Shingeki no Kyojin in Japanese) is now available on the FunimationNow streaming app, Hulu and Crunchyroll, as well as the Crunchyroll and Funimation channels on VRV, a streaming service that aggregates anime, animation, gaming, comedy, sci-fi, fantasy, horror, and tech content.
Attack on Titan is being presented as English-subtitled simulcast episodes, with details on “simuldub” episodes to “be shared within weeks,” Funimation announced.
For the uninitiated, Attack on Titan presents Eren Jaeger, who “fights for humanity’s freedom” against “man-eating giants called Titans… After a bittersweet victory against the female Titan, Eren finds no time to rest—a horde of Titans is approaching Wall Rose and the battle for humanity continues!”
The show is based on Hajime Isayama’s New York Times best-selling manga series, which has grown into a wide-ranging franchise consisting of the anime series, spin-off manga and novels, a live-action movie and video games.
For those who may be unfamiliar with the term “simuldub,” Alejandro Saab explains in this video that a simuldub English episode, like a subtitled simulcast one, streams close to the same time as the Japanese broadcast – or as Funimation explains, the same day or soon after the Japanese broadcast.
To access simuldub and simulcast shows on Funimation, you must subscribe to the $5.99 a month plan. Likewise, simulcasts are available on Crunchyroll with the $6.95 and $11.95/month premium plans.
Aggregator VRV offers the Funimation Channel for $5.99/month and the Crunchyroll channel for $6.95/month.
Hulu offers two subscription options: a $7.99 monthly plan, with limited commercials; and a $11.99 monthly ad-free plan.
