MiniComs on ZPTV

ZPTV, which launched last July via Roku, has debuted a second season of “MiniComs” produced by the Los Angeles-based sitcom acting school Actors Comedy Studio (ACS).

What’s a MiniCom? “The best way to describe it is a cross between a vlog and a live comedy skit,” said Lem Valbuena, ZPTV’s chief executive in charge of content acquisition.

You can also watch season one and season two of MiniComs free on the ACS Digital website. And here’s one of two MiniCom musicals:

In addition to MiniComs, ZPTV’s content includes other original series, as well as movies and classic TV.

The original shows include:

SanFranLand, “a dramatic comedy about a single woman who moves from Atlanta to the Bay Area to leave her ex-boyfriend and get a fresh new perspective on close friendships and romantic relationships.”

Hitstroke FM, “a comedy that tells the story of an off-beat radio station.”

We are Darren and Ryan, “about two struggling comedians who face challenges in their careers and the dating scene.”

Sample feature films include:

Adopt a Sailor (2008), starring Peter Coyote and Bebe Neuwirth.

Vamp U (2011), a horror comedy targeted toward teens.

Bikini Planet (2002), a sci-fi parody.

The classic TV series includes The Andy Griffith Show.

ZPTV is available in a free ad-supported version, and as ZPTV Premium, commercial-free and “with extra titles.”
